At Camellia Hospice, our philosophy is based on the needs of our patients and their loved ones. We recognize that as the course of a life-limiting illness progresses, medical, emotional and spiritual needs change for both the patient and their loved ones. Our Hospice Team recognizes and provides for these changing needs. We maintain that care and quality of life measures are most effective when the patient’s lifestyle is maintained and the philosophy of their life is respected.
What is Hospice?
Hospice care is available to patients diagnosed with final stages of chronic diseases such as heart and lung disease, cancer, end-stage Alzheimer's disease, AIDS, neurological and muscular disorders, kidney disease, liver disease, CVA and other life-limiting conditions so that the patient can live as fully and as comfortably as possible.
Our Hospice Care Team:
Hospice Levels of Care:
Hospice includes medical care with an emphasis on relief of troubling symptoms and pain control. Most medical care for patient comfort can be provided in the home, as our Nurses are experts in state-of-the-art pain and symptom control. In those rare cases when symptoms cannot be controlled at home, the Hospice Team arranges for short-term inpatient care while working to quickly resolve the crisis.
