Camp Camellia, a bereavement retreat hosted by Camellia Ministries, will hold its third annual bereavement camp June 3-5, 2016. Children ages 6-14 affected by the loss of a loved one are invited to enjoy the weekend camp for free.
The camp is held in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and provides a fun-filled weekend while helping children through the grieving process.
“Children can participate in activities such as water slides, hiking trails, crafts, swimming, a dance party and so much more,” said Ashley Sneed, Camp Camellia Director. “We enjoy having a great time and teaching the kids valuable life lessons about the grieving process.”
Campers will receive free lodging and meals throughout the weekend. They will only need to bring: pillows, sleeping bags, towels, toiletries and clothing (including swim attire) for the weekend.
“Our Camellia Healthcare employees organize Camp Camellia. Most volunteers are nurses and social workers who are actively involved in patient care and family relations, so all of the kids are in great hands,” said Sami Holley, Camp Camellia board member.
